Our Collision Repair Process

At Onel Auto Body & Paint, we follow a structured and professional repair process to restore your vehicle safely and properly. Whether you are filing an insurance claim or paying out of pocket, we guide you every step of the way.

  • Every repair begins with a complete inspection.

    • Full visible damage evaluation

    • Photo documentation

    • Insurance claim review (if applicable)

    • Customer-pay or insurance estimate written

⚠️ Important: The estimate provided at this stage is an initial estimate based only on visible damage. It is not a final bill.

Collision damage is often more extensive than what is visible during the first inspection. Once the vehicle is disassembled, additional hidden damage may be discovered.

    If that occurs:

    • A supplement is prepared

    • Documentation is submitted to the insurance company

    • Additional approvals are requested when necessary

If you already have an estimate from your insurance company, you are not required to rely solely on that estimate. Insurance estimates are also initial assessments and may not reflect all required repairs.

Our role as a professional collision repair facility is to properly inspect the vehicle, identify all necessary repairs, and submit additional parts, labor, or procedures needed to restore the vehicle safely.

  • If you have a claim number from your insurance company, we can schedule your vehicle drop-off for repairs.

You do not need final payment or a completed insurance review to schedule your repair.

    Our team will:

    • Communicate directly with your insurance carrier

    • Submit supplements for hidden damage or required procedures

    • Request additional parts or operations when necessary

    • Coordinate rental vehicle assistance (if covered)

A body shop plays a critical role in the repair process - we advocate for proper repairs on your behalf.

  • Once your vehicle arrives:

    • Damaged areas are carefully disassembled

    • Hidden or structural damage is identified

    • Additional damage is documented

    • Supplements are submitted if required

It is completely normal in collision repair to discover additional damage during teardown.

  • Our technicians perform:

    • Frame or structural repairs (if needed)

    • Panel replacement or dent repair

    • Panel alignment and gap adjustments

    • Surface preparation prior to paint

We follow proper repair procedures and manufacturer guidelines whenever applicable.

    • Computerized color matching

    • Professional basecoat and clearcoat application

    • Controlled paint booth environment

    • Proper curing time

    • Color blending when required

Our goal is a seamless finish that restores your vehicle’s appearance.

    • All components are reinstalled

    • Electrical systems reconnected

    • ADAS calibration performed if required

    • Final inspection, buff, polish, and cleaning

Every vehicle goes through a quality control process before delivery.

  • When your vehicle is completed:

    • We review all repairs with you

    • Warranty coverage is explained

    • Insurance balances are verified

If your insurance company issued you an initial payment based on their “Estimate of Record,” that check is collected at the time of delivery.

Any approved supplements are handled directly with the insurance company.
